Hot Chocolate Mix
Easy to make, easy to store, easy to use mix
Intro: At this chilly season of the year, we’re tired of making extravagant recipes after the holidays and we just want to hunker down to toast our toes. Let’s keep things easy with a mix you make ahead of time and can store them when you need a warm drink. It’s not expensive to make. Best of all, since non-dairy creamers can be found in flavors or flavored easily, the possibilities are a delicious exploration.
Equipment needed: large (17 cups or more) storage container with sealable lid, very large mixing bowl, large spoon or spatula.
Recommended but optional: wear a full-body apron
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
1 25.6 oz package of instant dry milk
1 6 oz jar powdered non-dairy creamer
2 c. powdered sugar
1 6oz can instant chocolate drink mix
METHOD
Place all ingredients in a very large bowl and mix carefully and slowly until combined. Do not mix with vigor or you will be covered in white powder. Pour carefully into a large storage container and seal.
When ready to make individual mugs of hot chocolate, use 3 Tablespoons of mix for each cup of hot water.
Notes: Use it within six months for the best flavor.
